Privacy Statement

Effective-i, Inc. is firmly committed to maintaining the privacy of visitors to its corporate website at http://www.effective-i.com (the Effective-i Website) or its product website at http://www.ucmore.com (the UCmore Website); users of its downloadable browser toolbar software (the Toolbar); and users of its contextual search engine, accessed through the UCmore Website (the Search Service).

As detailed further in this Privacy Statement, Effective-i will not store your personal information or willfully disclose it to any third party, without first receiving your permission. Please be aware, however, that Effective-i will release specific personal information about you if required to do so in order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order.

By using the Effective-i Website, the UCmore Website, the Toolbar or the Search Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as we have outlined in this Privacy Statment. Effective-i may decide to change this Privacy Policy from time to time, and if so, the changes will be posted on this page so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Websites

The Effective-i Website and the UCmore Website do not require or request that you provide any personal information. Both websites do not make use of browser cookies (except empty session cookies used in communications with the UCmore toolbar), meaning that Effective-i cannot in any event identify Internet visitors.

With exception to the above, the "Share Success" page on the UCmore Website allows you to submit information on how you successfully used UCmore (a Success Story). If you submit a Success Story, you give Effective-i permission to store your name and e-mail address, and publish one or both on the UCmore Website together with the text of your Success Story. Effective-i will not make any other use of your personal details and Success Story, and will not willingly disclose them to any third party.

The "Tell a Friend" page on the UCmore website allows you to recommend UCmore to a friend by entering a message in a web form and having it sent by to one or more e-mail addresses you provide. Your name, the e-mail addresses you enter in the form, and your personal message, will be erased from the UCmore web server as soon as the recommendation e-mails have been sent, and will not be transmitted to any third party.

In addition, Effective-i may share aggregate information about its users, such as number of visits to specific web pages, with advertisers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties.

UCmore Toolbar

Optional Registration

While installing the Toolbar, you have the option of registering it by entering personal information in a Registration Form that is then sent to Effective-i. If you register, you give Effective-i permission to store the information you provide. Effective-i will NOT provide your information to any third party, or use your contact details to communicate with you, unless you specifically consent to this using the registration form. If you do not wish to disclose your personal information to Effective-i, you can choose not to register.

Page URLs and Search Queries

In order to show you relevant categories for the website you are on, the UCmore Toolbar may send the URL of the page to a server at Effective-i. Similarly, when you perform a search in a search engine, the Toolbar sends the search query to our servers and receives relevant categories. However, the Toolbar does NOT provide Effective-i with any personally identifiable information such as a name, an e-mail address, or a unique ID, ensuring complete anonymity for users. URLs and search queries are NOT stored on our servers, and are not transmitted to any third party.

If you would like to stop sending page URLs and search queries to Effective-i, you can use the "Deactivate" command in the Toolbar's menu. Once deactivated, the toolbar will not send any information to Effective-i (but will also not be able to display categories and related websites). When you reactivate the toolbar it will resume sending page and search information.

Another way to stop sending page URLs and search queries is to uninstall the Toolbar, using the Windows Add/Remove Programs dialog or the "Uninstall" command in the Toolbar's menu. Once uninstalled, the Toolbar does NOT leave behind any working component, folder, file or Registry key.

Cookies

Cookies are commonly used to store a user's information when he or she switches to different web pages. In UCmore, they are not used for this purpose. The UCmore server periodically sends cookies to the UCmore toolbar, which contain only a session ID and the IP address of the computer on which the toolbar is installed. The toolbar returns this cookie, and it is then discarded by the toolbar and by the server.

Because these cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information (other than your IP address, which is not stored on the server), Effective-i cannot and does not use them to track your browsing habits, or violate your privacy in any other way.

Links to Other Sites

The sites displayed within categories displayed on the Toolbar are developed by people over whom Effective-i exercises no control. While Effective-i aims to include only relevant, quality sites in its categories, it cannot be responsible for their contents. Be aware that these other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information without connection to the UCmore Toolbar.

Some categories contain sponsored links paid for by Effective-i's advertisers. When you click a sponsored link, our partners record the visit and bill the advertiser. Our partners do NOT receive any information that can identify you personally.

Security

The UCmore Toolbar does not allow Effective-i, or any third party, to access your computer without your permission. Moreover, the Toolbar has been meticulously checked for software bugs, and is not known to create any "security holes" that can make it easier to other software or people to access your computer without your permission. Effective-i commits to promptly posting notice on the UCmore website if security problems are discovered in the future.

Other Software

The UCmore Toolbar installation package does not install any other software, except for the Toolbar itself. Effective-i therefore cannot be responsible for the effects of other software installed on your computer. Be aware that other Internet programs and browser add-ons may send your private information to others, display gratuitious advertising and cause serious software malfunctions.

Effective-i allows other software developers to integrate the UCmore Toolbar into their products, typically web browsers. When you install these software products, the UCmore Toolbar may be installed as well. Effective-i requires partners to inform users that their product includes the UCmore toolbar. At the same time, we recommend that you carefully review any product's privacy policy before installing it. If you install the Toolbar as part of another product, Effective-i cannot be responsible for privacy violations or other negative effects caused by other components of that product.

UCmore Search

You cannot be identified by Effective-i when using the Search Service. Effective-i does not collect any information from users of the Search Service, other than the search queries they enter.

The sites returned by the Search Service are developed by people over whom Effective-i exercises no control. While Effective-i aims to include only relevant, quality sites in its search results, it cannot be responsible for their contents. Be aware that these other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information without connection to the UCmore Search Service.

Some search results are sponsored links paid for by Effective-i's advertisers. When you click a sponsored link, our partners record the visit and bill the advertiser. Our partners do NOT receive any information that can identify you personally.

Effective-i may record aggregate information about user searches and share it with advertisers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties.
